Strategy

Strategy as defined by wikipedia is an organisation's long term plan to achieve its goals. Every organisation needs strategies in order to excel and be competitive in the market.

  2. Hello Rose,

I would also like to add towards strategy definition: ...it also entails short term plan. This is because in order for an organisation to fulfil their long term plan they will need guidance as a form of direction... that being short term goals otherwise I think without this, an organisation will go off track.

My position on this is say for example, little children at primary school.(",) Teachers are there to teach them ..i.e random topic ..'maths'. Before the pupils take end of term exam: which is to get them to pass with 'good/excellent' mark. Teacher will of have taught them small topic's at a time to prepare them ready for the test.

But then it is down to the pupil to do their 'homework' and complete the set math's exercise each week. The teacher will check their homework and if any problem arise's, this can be rectified beforehand.

    Happy posting! :)

  3. Where are the ideas of other writers (properly referenced? What is the justification of long-term when considering a 'plan'? Is it clear what level of detail goes into a strategic plan? What is the relevance of 'strategy' to KM? And, post importantly, can you fit the idea to a real organisation -- i.e. give examples?
